跨界藝術家，蔣友柏(Demos Chiang)，將於2022年6月6日發行600件 1/1《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFTs。包括攜手韓裔美籍藝術家朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)，推出100件國際聯名款“Beauty & the Beast” NFTs，堅毅的豹首與唯美的光影裝置藝術, 首度在元宇宙結合。

Demos Chiang, the well-known multi-discipline artist across Greater China, announces to launch his《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFTs on June 6, 2022. It consists a collection of 600 unique Panther head NFTs, in which 100 pieces are special collaboration with Korean-American artist Soo Sunny Park. An ethereal combination of tenacity Panther and iridescent light installation, the characteristics of both artists, joint together in metaverse.

蔣友柏(Demos Chiang)與韓裔美籍藝術家朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)合作發行《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFT。繪畫豹首結合動態光影的裝置藝術，轉化成元宇宙世界的新數位影像。這是雙方第一次合作，也是朴善熙的第一款NFT，共同實踐藝術跨界、跨文化創作。

Demos Chiang and Soo Sunny Park collaborate on the release of
《Gentle Panther 2.0》,
an NFT that combines the signature artworks of both artists to a new digital image of the metaverse.
This is the first collaboration between the two parties and Soo Sunny Park’s first NFT project.

 

暨2022年春分首發《Gentle Panther》NFTs，以「五行豹首」演繹易經中君子豹變哲學; 蔣友柏選擇於芒種日續推《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFTs，以「繪畫豹首」為主題, 將歷年繪畫作品轉化為豹首的皮膚，動態呈現虛實交錯的影像與藝術創作脈絡的投射。

《Gentle Panther》is a NFT series adopting I-Ching concept “Wise men mend their ways” via metamorphose of panther. The 《Gentle Panther》1.0 integrated the five elements (metal, wood, water, fire and earth) was to celebrate the balance of nature energy, as a reflection of humanistic essence. 《Gentle Panther 2.0》 followed the same philosophical path.  As the Yin and Yan, everything leads to another.  And that is the harmony of life.  Combining digital panther heads and physical paintings is the artist’s statement for bridging the physical boundaries and the metaverse possibilities.

蔣友柏(Demos Chiang) 以「繪畫豹首」作為《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFT的創作主題。歷年畫作的動物主角、英文題詩、漆墨山水，都成為個別豹首的一部分，在動態的元宇宙重生。每一件畫作均可追溯，每件NFT均獨一無二，非AI演算生成。

The second category of《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFT is a collection of
panther heads that use paintings from Demos Chiang as the skins for the panthers.
The animals, the poems, the landscape of contemplation by
water and lacquer, re-metamorphose onto the panther.
Each Panther head is unique by its skin that each painting is
original and traceable. Not through algorithm.

 

其中限量100件《Gentle Panther 2.0》NFTs，蔣友柏將繪畫豹首結合朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)知名的光影藝術裝置，將創造動態光影的裝置藝術，轉化成元宇宙世界的新數位影像。這是雙方第一次合作，也是朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)的第一款NFT，共同實踐藝術跨界、跨文化創作。

The new《Gentle Panther 2.0》collection will feature two categories.
The first category, will be an art collaboration between international recognized artist Soo Sunny Park and Demos Chiang.  In this collection, the artists attempt to challenge the boundaries of digital art through combining both installation and paintings that already exist in the physical world.  The second category will be a collection of panther heads that uses painting from Demos Chiang as the skins for the panthers.  Both attempts are aimed to deliver a new representation of the “transition” between the worlds of 2.0 and 3.0.

This is the first time the two artists collaborate as a joint practice of artistic crossover and a cross-cultural creation. It’s also Soo Sunny Park’s first NFT project.

The first 100 pieces of 《Gentle Panther 2.0》are special editions of collaboration between
Demos Chiang & Soo Sunny Park. An ethereal combination of tenacity Panther and
iridescent light installation, the characteristics of both artists,
jointly creating a paradise at metaverse for those animals in contemplation.

 

“我希望激發物理世界和想像世界融合在一起的感覺，作為一個整體呈現，我希望這能讓人們有時間停下來思考我們劃分世界的方式，以及我們以不同角度去做這件事的方式。希望人們會對我的作品有很多我無法預料到的想法，重點是探索，而不是提供一個想法的具體立場。”

 朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)訴說的藝術理念，與蔣友柏對於破壞與縫合虛實視界的創作信念，不謀而合。

“I hope to provoke the sense of the physical world and an imagined world coming together, present as one. I hope that this gives people a moment to stop and think about the way we divide our world and the ways in which we might do that differently. Hopefully, people will have lots of thoughts about the work that I can only imagine. The point is exploration, rather than offering a specific position on an idea.”  Said of Soo Sunny Park in one of her interviews. Her philosophy coincides with Demos Chiang’s belief of destroying and sewing the realm of reality together.   

《Gentle Panther》NFT是一個豹首藝術的集合體，以繪畫1/1的獨特性與稀有性，打造虛擬與現實融合的數位藝術。豹首同時是解鎖私人藏家俱樂部的會員資格，持有的時間愈早、數量愈多，獲得的會員專屬賦能就愈高，甚至包括有機會獲得藝術家蔣友柏贈送的實體藝術作品。每件豹首均悉心鍛造構成，逐一雕琢，而非AI演算生成。

《Gentle Panther》 uses time as a trigger to unlock the private membership attributes.  Once you hold on to the “selected” NFT for 66 days, one will be entitled to redeem the benefits.  Which includes several physical artworks by Demos Chiang.  Setting time as a trigger is to reflect the fact that art works do need time to create and increase in value.  And in line with this, each《Gentle Panther》NFT is created manually and not through algorithm.

自2022年3月發行第一代《Gentle Panther》NFT起，項目方與Gentle Panther藏家即積極在as studio Discord社群建立起了深厚的關係。其中包括: 每日兩個時段由蔣友柏本人在線上與藏家們深度交流藝術與人生哲學; 讓藏家收藏的豹首NFT登上台北微風松高百貨的大屏幕播放，如同時代廣場的規模展示作品的影響力等。

Since the release of the first generation of《Gentle Panther》NFT in March 2022, the project crew, as studio, and Gentle Panther NFT collectors have been actively building a deep relationship in the Discord community. Not only Demos Chiang chats in person two times daily, exchanging his thoughts on art and life with his collectors online. But also, like the Time Square in New York, the crew to broadcast the NFT artworks on the giant LED screen at the central of Taipei CBD, to showcase the influential power of those unqiue panther heads, that the collectors feel pampered and honored.

Gentle Panther NFT亦將首度以IP形式，與國際共享充電器品牌ChargeSPOT台灣分公司推出實體合作:

5月9日開始，台北101、誠品書店信義店, 以及台北多處捷運站，均可租借到ChargeSPOT X Gentle Panther聯名款行動電源。600張特卡可取下收藏，獲得神秘活動資格。

《Gentle Panther》will also launch its first physical cooperation in Taiwan, with ChargeSPOT, the first global shared power bank rental service in the form of IP:

Starting May 9, 2022, ChargeSPOT X Gentle Panther co-branded power bank can be rented at Taipei 101, Eslite Bookstore Xinyi Store, and many MRT stations in Taipei. 600 special card stickers can be take down and collected to qualify for the mystery event.

朴善熙Soo Sunny Park

朴善熙(Soo Sunny Park)出生於韓國首爾，11歲時移居美國，在喬治亞州瑪莉埃塔(Marietta, GA)及羅里達州奧蘭多(Orlando, FL)成長。她在美國俄亥俄州的哥倫布藝術與設計學院取得繪畫及雕塑學士學位，並於密歇根州克蘭布魯克學院修習雕塑，取得碩士學位。2000年在思科西甘藝術學校的駐村計畫結束後，她曾在密蘇里州聖路易市作為一個裝置藝術家，在華盛頓大學藝術學院任講師。2001年，她被河岸時報(River Front Times)選為2001最佳聖路易斯雕塑家。她也是第19屆美國密歇根美術獎特獎得主，曾獲頒國家科學院博物館之海倫．福斯特．巴尼特獎(2008)，以及洛克斐勒基金會貝拉吉歐中心獎學金(2010)。現居美國新罕布夏州，擔任達特茅斯學院藝術學院副教授。

Soo Sunny Park 的作品極具原創性及藝術性，她善於運用一般常見的材質，將「光」作為雕塑材料; 以空間裝置的手法，捕捉自然與人造光影的移動，重新賦予空間透視性、時間性和存在感，創造一種非常輕盈夢幻的視覺流光幻影。

朴善熙Soo Sunny Park在全球有非常多的重要美術館展覽，目前正在美國華盛頓Smithsonian博物館展出。此外，也有非常多的公共藝術作品設置在各國重要城市，台灣基隆火車站設有朴善熙Soo Sunny Park的永久公共藝術作品《燦流》，繽紛流動的光影變化，呼應基隆海洋特色。

About Co-op Artist

Soo Sunny Park

Soo Sunny Park is a Korean American artist. Park was originally from Seoul, South Korea, before she moved to the United States at the age of ten, and grew up in Marietta, Georgia and Orlando, Florida. She has both a B.F.A. in painting and sculpture, and a M.F.A. in sculpture, the first originating from Columbus College of Art and Design (Columbus, Ohio) and the latter from Cranbrook Academy of Art (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.) After acquiring her degrees, she went on to obtain a residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture circa 2000. She resides in New Hampshire, USA and teaches at Dartmouth College.

Soo Sunny Park’s works are highly original and artistic. She is adept at using common materials and using “light” as a sculptural material; capturing the movement of natural and man-made light and shadows through spatial installation, re-instilling a sense of perspective, time and presence in the space, creating a very light and dreamy visual illusion of flowing light.

Soo Sunny Park has had many important exhibitions in museums around the world, and is currently exhibiting at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, USA. In addition, many public art works have been installed in important cities around the world. The Keelung Railway Station in Taiwan has a permanent public art work by Soo Sunny Park called “Splendid Flow”, which echoes the characteristics of Keelung’s ocean with its colorful flow of light and shadow.

Demos Chiang蔣友柏

 多元跨界創作者、數位藝術策展人、設計師和藝術家。

在繪畫上，以詩書畫的超融合，將動物作為唯一的、最大的、最豐富的藝術主題。用毛筆和壓克力顏料畫出細節的寫實感，像對待人一般，為動物描繪肖像; 再以近乎西方表現主義的筆觸，用水與油漆勾勒出山水遠景，然後用油漆筆落款的英文題詩，呢喃出動物們無國界的思緒; 同時，也是融合中西方文化的沉思自語。

在雕塑上，延續東西方詩歌和繪畫交織的二維空間，轉化為 “雕塑出自己的繪畫世界”，將詩畫合一的精神空間化為有形，將沉思轉化為現實，將靜止轉化為移動。以真空為雕塑語彙，表達一種不存在物質的空間狀態。“把最基本的拿走，竟能留下最核心的”概念，貫穿了他的雕塑創作思維。

繪畫或雕塑，任何技術形式與材料，都成為回應東西方文化交融的藝術方式。此時“藝術”與“設計”已經沒有先後、沒有大小、也沒有為別人還是為自己辯論。只有不斷用自己的方式，去把心中的中西文化，與當代潮流“縫”起來。

About Artist

Demos Chiang

As a multi-discipline creator, digital art curator, designer, and artist, Demos Chiang aims to present the purest artistic emotion and all-round artistic creation outside of his design career.

In his paintings, he uses a super fusion of poetry, calligraphy and painting, making animals the only, the biggest and the richest artistic theme. Using brush and acrylics to create a realistic sense of detail, he draws portraits of the animals as if they were human beings; then, using almost Western expressionist brushwork, he outlines the landscape with water and paint, and then uses English poems inscribed in paint to murmur the thoughts of the animals without borders; at the same time, it is also a meditation on the fusion of Chinese and Western cultures.

In the sculpture, the two-dimensional space of interweaving Eastern and Western poetry and painting is transformed into “sculpting one’s own painting world”, turning the spiritual space of unity of poetry and painting into tangible, turning contemplation into reality, and turning stillness into movement.

In the sculptural vocabulary, a vacuum is used to express a spatial state where there is no materiality. In a specific space, we take away the air that the earth depends on to survive, but we can keep the food fresh and the volume of matter to a minimum, which becomes the most common application of vacuum technology in daily life. This concept of “taking away the most basic, but leaving the most core” has been the basis of his thinking in sculpture creation.

Painting or sculpture, any technical form and material, becomes an art form that responds to the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. At this time, for him, “art” and “design” have no priority, no debate for others or for oneself. He just continues to use his own way to “sew” the Eastern and Western cultures in heart with the contemporary vocabulary.

as studio是一個致力把藝術與設計縫在一起，又突破作為的工作室。出自蔣友柏創立的「橙果設計」，以無人出其右的潮流精神，創作並經紀當代藝術與潮流收藏。

在這裡，「藝術」與「設計」沒有先後、沒有大小、沒有是為別人還是為自己的辯論；只有新型態的「縫」。

as代表一種「作為」，也代表各種「成為」的可能；

studio代表不追求規模，但追求共同創造價值的平臺。

About as studio

as studio is a workplace dedicated to sew art and design together in a breakthrough way. as studio is affiliated to “DEM Design” founded by Demos Chiang, creates and distributes contemporary artworks with a hip spirit that no one can match.

At at studio, there is no issue of priority nor debate of greatness between “Art” and “Design”, whether it is for others or for self. There is only a new state of “seam”.

as represents an “act” and the possibility of “becoming”.

studio represents a platform to create value together instead of pursuing scale.
